For your consideration…

Often we hear intention and motive in reference to the law and criminal behavior. It is important to solve and successfully prosecute cases. But understanding the difference in the rest of life is equally important but is often not given much thought.

The intention is what we are thinking. Motivation is what is driving us. Think of intention as the “what” and motivation as the “why.” Knowing the difference and having clear definition is key to understanding.

Often we are reminded to not be judgmental. Today reminds us that we may or may not know someone’s intention. We may or may not agree with them. However, we can not know someone’s motivation or what causes it. We are all products of our environment and upbringing. We are as different as night and day. Remember the saying references, “walking in my shoes.”? It is true. Not one can walk in our shoes and we can not walk in anyone else’s.

There is more to today’s message. Understanding intention and motive is a great tool to use in our own lives. We are often reminded about setting clear intentions that are in sync with our body, mind, and soul. The only way to do that is by understanding what is driving them. What is the motivation behind them? Examine them without judgment.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Let go of judgment understanding we can never fully understand the motivation behind the intention.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A fun day and evening with Conner.

-His laughter and joy are infectious.

-Catching up with Cathy and Mary.

-A new book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
