For your consideration…

HOPE is alive and well. It is a gift from God given to each of us in our life toolbox. It stokes the fire in our Spirit. It encourages us. It allows us to dream. HOPE is necessary for our health and happiness. We should never give it up or let someone dampen it.

Sometimes well-meaning people, people with kind hearts, steal our HOPE. It isn’t blatant or intended. It is subtle. We do it whenever we make someone or allow someone to feel like a victim. Victims have no control or HOPE which is untrue unless we believe it. When we let someone feel like a victim, we are letting them assume that they are incapable. We let them assume that they have no options except what others give them. Or sometimes they feel entitled. No matter what, it is a recipe for failure and disaster because we get what we expect. If we think we have no control, we do not assume control. If we think, we are entitled, we wait for others to take care of us. We don’t set goals let alone stretch goals because we don’t think we are capable…good enough…when we most surely are.

Remember the old saying, “tough love?” Sometimes it is tough to not step in and be the fixer. Kind hearts want to do that. But the kindest heart knows to appeal to the “survivor.” It is the survivor who holds onto HOPE and works through issues. It is the survivor who holds onto dreams and sets goals. It is the survivor who always sees the other side and keeps moving through the mud versus getting stuck in it.

We all are born with a life purpose perfectly designed with everything we need to fulfill it. Just because we have more or less than someone else, means nothing. We have what we need including HOPE.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.” I am loved exactly as I am.

-Meditate/pray..ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Keep your HOPE strong. We have everything we need to fulfill our life purpose.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with Mary and Shannon.

-Happy hour with my friend Pam who I do not get to see very much.

-James smoked a prime rib. Him and Alex made a delicious dinner for us. So glad Pam stayed.

-A really good nights sleep…first in a long time.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
