For your consideration…

When the best laid plans go awry….

It happens to all of us throughout our lives in all things big and small. Although, we tend to remember the “bigger” ones because we have a hard time letting go of judgment. We tie “bigger” to things that are most important to us.

Examples might be I plan to run errands and the weather turns rainy and I debate whether or not I really need to run them now. That seems realtiviely minor compared to having a party that I have planned for a long time. The weather for 10 days have predicted a beautiful day only to have it rain hard during the party. Compare that to losing someone we love to which nothing can measure up to.

So why is our message using these examples? How can they compare to each other?

Our message is about attitude…mindset. We have power and control of our minds should we choose to use it. We can choose to let all things big and small tank us or we can choose to incorporate them as part of our life experience making us stronger. Do we want things that go awry to make us miserable or do we want to let them roll off of our back…even make them fun. What kind of example to we want to be for ourselves and others?

Life can be pretty miserable if we choose to let plans gone awry make us so. On the flip side we can choose to learn, laugh, and roll with them. We have a choice. We always have a choice.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Rolls with the punches.

What made me smile yesterday…

-We made good use of the tent we had rented and had a Father’s Day gathering.

-We were able to get Bruce outside to enjoy the festivities with our friends.

-An easy cleanup.

-Shannone took Alex to the airport. She will be back in a couple of weeks so it was not so hard to say goodbye.

-A good book with an magnificent thunderstorm in the background.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
