For your consideration…

We all have them…fears. Sometimes it is for good reason, sometimes not. I think about my youngest daughter who from birth has been terrified of bad weather. As a two year old, we would laugh as she checked the weather each day. At her baby-sitter’s, all the adults coming in would ask her what the weather was going to be. She is an adult now and still faces that fear.

That is the key part of today’s message. The best way to conquer fear is to face it. We are given the example of infectious disease. Most vaccines carry a small part of the disease that then makes us immune to the disease or at least a devastating case of it.

We do not conquer fear by hiding from it. We conquer our fear by exposing ourselves to it….maybe in a small way at first until we are stronger. Our message today encourages us to take at least a small step towards exposing ourselves to our fear(s). Ultimately it will make us stronger.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of fluids.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Take a step towards our fears not away from them.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful warm sunny day.

-Catching up with Alex and James, Jackie and Cathy.

-AJ’s lacrosse game.

-Lunch with Mac and AJ at Gabriel’s

-A nap.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
