For your consideration…

Ok…I will be the first to say it. “This is not the message I was HOPEing to see today.” Truth be known, probably not any day, because this involves work. Maybe lots of work. But also, truth be known, we know that decluttering and simplifying our lives makes it easier to grow spiritually.

Our message today acknowledges that decluttering may seem overwhelming so it gives us some hints on how to do it. Like anything else that seems to big to tackle, we need to chunk it out. Break the tasks down into something more manageable. We are asked to pick a room. It does not matter which one. Notice what you use in it. Write it down. There are some things, of course, that are seasonal or occasion oriented. For instance in the kitchen, we may not use our mixer everyday but we do use it every time we bake. So unless we rarely baked, we would not want to get rid of it.

Pull out what what we don’t use and make a plan for disposal ie; throw it away, donate it, sell it. We may want to get up to speed with internet sites like Facebook Marketplace and Ebay.

Our message acknowledges that this is not an easy task. It is not a quick task. We will be at this all year. But the rewards will we enormous.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Declutter.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Some baking. I love the way the house smells when we bake.

-A good book.

-Alex’s help.

-My faith.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
