For your consideration…

Our message came in via the Carly Simon song, “Anticipation.” Remember these lyrics? “Anticipation, anticipation is makin’ me late, keeping me waiting.”

We have a choice. We always have a choice. How we anticipate is up to us. We can anticipate with wild abandon as a child does or we can anticipate doom and gloom. It comes down to what we expect. We are reminded that what we expect has a way of showing up in one form or another.

I love this quote by Esther Perel on anticipation…

Anticipation which is mortar to desire,

the ability to imagine it as if it is happening,

to experience it as if it is happening,

while nothing is happening

and everything is  happening at the same time.

We are reminded of our choice to be excited or anxious, brave or scared, engaged and inviting versus withdrawn in hibernation. Right now is a new day, a new moment. We can choose to be excited and grateful for it fully expecting it to be perfect in every way.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Anticipate wisely.

What made me smile yesterday…

-When a challenging class sits hanging on your every word, you know you are doing something right.

-I expected rain all week but instead got another beautiful day….

-which was perfect for a night of softball…

-…and time with my daughter, Shannon.

-Echo video conferencing with Alex. Isn’t it a wonder?

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
