For your consideration…

I feel as though we have had this message or something similar before. None the less someone or many of us need to hear it again.

Planning is a good thing. Many of us like to have at least an outline of our day or an event we are doing for work or personally. I know I do. I was a business planner and I like to have a plan. And despite all of the great software out there for our computers and phones, my favorite planning tool is the planning notebook. They are getting harder and harder to find. To me it is easier to flip through pages in the planner than on the computer or phone. I like that I can color code the pages with sticky flags. A good plan eases stress and reassures us.

Yes planning is good until it isn’t. Planning can turn ugly and stressful when we don’t leave room for the unexpected. Planning turns ugly when it becomes inflexible and we back ourselves into a corner.

We are reminded today to expect the unexpected. Stay loose. Inflexibility can lead to disappointment or as Shakespeare said, “heartache.”

Think about it. It is the unexpected that most often change our lives. Be open to…allow room for…the unexpected.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Expect the unexpected.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A good workout.

-A beautiful day.

-A mindfulness class.

-Lunch with Cathy.

-Errands done.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
