For your consideration…

The above picture is of a card from Doreen Virtue’s Archangel Oracle Cards. There is a long story behind it but suffice to say that when I first started reading cards, this card was sent to me. Later when I was asked what the card meant I replied, “I don’t know but I recognize the “place.”

Today’s message is a tool for a tool. Many people say to me, others, themselves etc. that they have a hard time meditating. Hey, we’ve all been there and the truth is that even experienced meditators sometimes have a hard time focusing. They have their days too. But meditating is a tool worth learning to use. It adds enormous peace, health, clarity etc. to our lives.

When I first started meditating regularly, someone suggested a guided meditation. In one of them the guide lead you to a peaceful place. They led you to picture it. It was not described for you. In my mind the above place, minus the angel and harp, was exactly what I pictured in my mind. For many days in meditation I went to this place first and then continued on with the rest of my meditation in that place. I no longer go there everyday in mediation but I do whenever I need to find peace or am having difficulty meditating.

It is suggested today that each of us be still and find our own place. Picture in your own mind a place where you would feel completely at peace. It doesn’t have to be a real place. You can create it. It can be a real place. Or it can be a combination of fiction and nonfiction. Be still. Take yourself on a journey. Walk out of a building, start walking across a park, field, meadow, lawn etc. Keep walking until you come across your special place. Sit there in it, listen to its sounds, smell how it feels, notice the details of it. Then when you are ready commit it to memory and walk yourself back in the direction you came. Go there tomorrow and the next day and the next. Soon you may not go every day but you will remember that you can whenever you need to.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Find you special place.
