Civility

formal politeness and courtesy in behavior and speech

For your consideration….

There is a couple of important parts of today’s message on civility.

Civility is a necessary component of relationships and societies. Real civility, civility that makes a difference, is not part-time. Real civility is a pattern of behavior that is ingrained in our soul. It is not dependent on the judgment of the ego. It is a learned and practiced behavior that resonates with out authentic self

As a society we have gotten away from teaching civility to our children. It starts with the littlest of things such as saying please and thank you, waiting to begin eating until everyone is seated and ready, not interrupting, real listening etc. It starts with us teaching our children basic manners. It continues with us teaching them tolerance not just for those we agree with but those we don’t because we respect them as individuals. We honor their right to personal choice.

Civility matters. Teaching civility to our children matters. Being an example of civility matters.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Model civility.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Seeing my kiddos.

-A beautiful day.

-The supermoon.

-An early bedtime to try to kick this cold.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
