Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections

from “All Of Me” by John Legend

For your consideration…..

I love this love song. Today it expands its message. It is not just a couples love song. It is about loving ourselves and loving other people as well.

We are born perfect. We are perfect for the life purpose we are here to accomplish and so is everyone else. In reality, those imperfections….our uniqueness….are what attracts us to each other. We recognize a comrade in spirit, someone who is like us. Or just the opposite, we recognize a uniqueness we do not possess and want to experience it through another.

We are asked to embrace and love our imperfections and those in others. However, this is not a “get out of jail free” card. We are expected to be the best we can be…maximize our imperfections turning them into assets. And we are not expected to make excuses for others who clearly are not doing their best. Indeed they are using their imperfections for excuses.

We are simply asked to love ourselves and each other for who we/they are and who we/they are meant to be. We are asked to pause and notice our perfect imperfections….and embrace and love them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Embrace perfect imperfections.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A great school day with 8th graders. Who would have “thunk” it? At one point in last hour, the sky opened up and a torrential downpour pounded loudly on the roof of the school. I jokingly asked, “Who wants to run to my car and get my umbrella?” Seriously, 6-8 students raised their hands.in a day. You have got to love it.

-I am amazed at my brother’s talent and what he can get done in a day. He even inspires my husband, Bruce.

-Dinner out with Gordie, Andy and Trish.

-A trip to Stillwater.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
