For your consideration…..

I don’t know about you, but I always work better in an organized space. It doesn’t mean that it looks organized to anyone else. But it is a space where I can readily put my hands on anything I need. For me it is frustrating when a 30 minute task seemingly takes forever because I can’t find or don’t have what I need. It is like getting half way through a recipe and find you are missing an ingredient.

So too it is with our minds. As we so often say, our Guidance is always “on”, 24/7. They are always there to answer questions and/or guide us. But too often we can not hear or feel them because we have jam-packed our minds with clutter. We have those endless “to do” lists running rampant in our minds.

Our message today is to practice decluttering our minds. Notice it says practice because it does take practice. Whatever system works for us is perfect but we do need to find one.

For myself, I “honor” each of those cluttering thoughts that pop up but I then dismiss them with a commitment that I will get to them at a more appropriate time. Sometimes I write them down for a later time. Sometimes not. When I am meditating I have a little freight train that I allow to chug through my mind. As it goes by, I drop all of those cluttering thoughts in it until my mind is clear. I’m sure this seems silly but it works for me and that is the point. Whatever works for you is perfect.

We are asked today to practice decluttering our mind that we may more clearly hear our Guidance and live fully present in the moment.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Wow such brave kindergarteners. I am in awe.

-Well it was a cooler morning. I’ll take that even though the afternoon was sweltering. You know it is hot when little kids gather under a shade tree at recess.

-I have been hungry for Chinese takeout for 3 weeks. Bruce relented last night.

-Funny texts from my girls and Kerri.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
