For your consideration…..

Earlier this week we had a message on ego and judgment. My sense is that today’s message goes along with that one.

Our message is this, “What the authentic self senses, feels, recognizes etc. as true, is its truth.” It is as simple as that. If the authentic self believes it is true, It is true for that authentic self.

It does not matter whether or not it is true for anyone else. It does not matter if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else. It doesn’t matter whether we understand where it came from or not.

If the authentic self holds it as true, it is true. It is true for others. It is true for us.

If we are the friend, relative or random viewer, we can be very confused or troubled. The other day we were asked to let the filter of the ego go and look at truth. Now we are asked to look at it and “accept” it as that person’s truth. However, it does not mean that our own authentic self has to accept it as true. Do you see the difference? We are asked to accept and/or respect the truth someone holds for themselves while at the same time…without the ego’s judgment….let our own authentic self recognize its own truth. They may or may not match.

A perfect example may be around something like talent. The artist may see flaws and doubt their talent. Their authentic self tells them they could do better….or not. The observer’s authentic self may see and recognize great and flawless beauty…..the opposite of the artist’s truth. Perhaps the unvarnished truth from an authentic soul is just what the artist’s authentic soul needs. When it sees and feels authentic truth, its own soul’s perception may begin to change….if it wants to. It has a choice. It always has a choice.

As do we. Those truths we hold in our own soul can be examined and reexamined. We can figure out where our own truths came from and are they valid? Only we hold the key to protect or change our authentic self….our soul’s….truth.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Don’t be afraid to ask yourself, “Is it true?” If it is not, don’t let it into your soul. If it is already there, kick it out. Get rid of it.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-More sun. Perfect.

-The sun has melted snow making yards and playgrounds a sheet of ice. I fell down on the playground yesterday. A couple of 1st graders came over and asked, “Chris, are you ok. Do you need us to call 911?” “Oh, for sure,” I tell them, “right after you help me up.” Would you believe those sweet little girls were fully ready to try….on the ice…to pull me up before they realized I was just spoofing with them.

-When I went to get a pedicure and manicure after work, Kathy says what happened to you? I am covered in bruises from running into a low shelf, the point of a rocking chair and falling down at recess.

-TGIF.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
