For your consideration……

What is your first impression when you read or hear, “Me, myself and I?” Sometimes people, especially women, feel selfish. After all, putting others before self is noble. We can’t have it both ways, can we?

Today’s message tells us that like anything else, we need balance. We simply can not be our best self if we do not spend adequate alone time getting to know her. It is not selfish to crave or demand alone time.  It is healthy. So set aside the misplaced guilt.

There is one more part to this message. Sometimes not wanting to be alone has nothing to do with selfishness or guilt. Sometimes we “don’t want to or are afraid to” be alone.  If we are uncomfortable being alone with “I”, we need to get to the bottom of that. What are we afraid of? What don’t we want to hear? What don’t we want to feel? What don’t we want to face? Our health and growth depends on figuring that out.

No matter how busy you are, cut out time to be alone. Meditating/praying is a good daily practice but that does not have to be the only alone time we cut out. Do things you love…. alone ie; shop, read, go to the movies, walk etc.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Cut out time to be alone.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-High schoolers…..ahhhh…..they have no idea…..

-Mac’s basketball game…..she’s awesome.

-Skyping with Alex…..twice.

-Sharing Bill’s hot dog stand experience.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
