For your consideration…

When we think about life, we might consider how much of it is in our control and how much of it isn’t. Certainly we plan for a lot of it and then at other times “the best laid plans” fall by the wayside. How we feel about that will vary for each of us. And that is where today’s message comes in.

We are given the analogy of transportation. For example, I made a trip to Colorado a couple of weeks ago. Planning the trip we went back and forth on whether to drive or fly. Ultimately we decided that we wanted to make a road trip so that we could make some stops along the way. Yesterday my friends and I talked about doing it again and considering taking a train.

Our message today tells us that whether life happens as planned or unplanned, we have control of the “mode of transportation….our EMOTIONS.  Our emotions are in each and every moment with us. WE choose what those emotions are. We forget that. We let the unconscious take over and dictate. Sometimes that is good but sometimes it is not. How we choose to live in a moment …our mode of transportation…is vital to the outcome of it. We choose fear or curiosity and excitement. We choose joy over sadness. We choose trust over pessimistic. We choose optimism over doubt. We choose contentment over discontentment. etc. etc. etc.

Our emotions dictate how we travel from moment to moment, day-to-day. We are asked to consider choosing efficient, positive and safe transportation.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Consciously choose your mode of transportation.

What made me smile yesterday…

-An absolutely perfect weather day.

-Vickie and I took lunch to our friend Julie’s. We had  a great visit.

-Fun videos and pictures from Mac and Shannon baking….well Mac baking. Shannon was the cameraman.

-I took my book outside to read and ended up getting a good nap instead.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
