For your consideration…

Our message today was introduced by “first impressions.” We all get them. We don’t give much thought to them. They just happen. Down the road we may question them but it does not stop us from getting them. The thing is we are making judgments before we have all the facts. We are reminded that judging ourselves or others is not in our or their best interest.

Today’s message tells us that just like with first impressions we do the same thing in speech. We hear part of what is being said and our brain automatically starts filling in the ending. We are forming our response, making comparisons, before we hear the entirety of what the speaker is trying to communicate.

We do this because we have judgment. We are reminded today that judgment inhibits our highest good and the highest good of others. Judgment is an instrument of our ego. We are asked to suspend it and listen…really listen…and hear what others have to say.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…”I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Listen without judgment.

What made me smile yesterday….

-A chill morning.

-Oil change and car cleaning getting ready for the girls road trip.

-Grocery shopping done.

-Laundry done.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
