For your considerations….

It seems like it has been a long time since we have had a message about dreams. HOPEfully we will have another one soon. Today’s message reminds us of something we know and learn about in our dreams…specifically nightmares.

Nightmares can range from unsettling to downright terrifying. Reoccurring ones are the worse. They can cause us to not only wake up and lose sleep but cause us to be afraid to sleep at all. In understanding our dreams we are taught to take control of them. For example, it is fun if for instance it is controlling flying and choosing where to go. However, normally we are afraid to take control in a nightmare. Yet that is exactly what we need to do to make it go away. When we are in a nightmare, we are asked to stop, turn around, face it, stare it down and ask what it wants. When we do that, we reassert our control. We become in charge again and the nightmares go away.

We are given that example today and asked to do the same thing with stressors. Stop, turn around, face the stressor, stare it down and ask why it is a stressor. When we are looking at all of the facts, the pros and cons, what we can do and what we can’t, we can take active steps to eliminate the stressor. Letting it go without addressing it, makes us feel out of control causing even more stress. The sooner we regain control, the sooner the stressor is eliminated.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Address our stressors.

What made me smile yesterday…

-An absolutely beautiful day.

-Early morning helping at an event for our club.

-Seeing old friends.

-Liz and Will’s beautiful wedding.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
