“Fearless Girl”

in Manhattans Financial District

For your consideration…

Don’t you love this statue? Fearless. For me today, this is an ah ha moment. Only yesterday in Mindfulness we discussed fear.

Fear is a lot of things. Like everything else it can be good or bad. It is key for us to see it and recognize which it is. Fear is a built-in system alerting us to danger. We always tell survivors of domestic violence to pay attention to your gut. If you feel fear, like someone is watching you, believe it and take precautions. This is an example of healthy fear….fear that works for us. On the flip side is fear that paralyzes us. It keeps us from action. Or like my friend, Vicki said, “Worry, about what ifs that hardly ever come to fruition.” It is just a waste of valuable time.

The opposite of inaction is action. When we are paralyzed with fear or if we find ourselves lazy with procrastination, we need to take action. We need to take the bull by the horns. Notice we are asked to take action. It doesn’t say it has to be a big action. It doesn’t say we have to have all the answers. We are simply asked to take an action…any action. That is the first step in taking back our power or at least engaging it.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Take the bull by the horns. Take charge of you life.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Dianne and Gary stopped by for lunch…with Bill’s hot dogs. The first of the season for us. Yummm.

-There was a cancellation and the repairman can come tomorrow.

-Thank goodness for the freezing temps. All the food from my refrigerator freezer in on the back porch nice and frozen.

-Meeting with our women’s circle.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
