For your consideration…

Recently we received a message to keep moving and not hibernate. Today’s message tells us to slow down. It seems like a conflict but it is not. Like anything else we need balance. Additionally, our messages are for many people. Some may need to slow down and some need to get moving. I have to trust that who needs the message will get it.

Today’s message came in via a song by Alabama, “I’m in a Hurry (and I Don’t Know Why).”

I’m in a hurry to get things done
Oh I rush and rush until life’s no fun
All I really gotta do is live and die
But I’m in a hurry and don’t know why.

Today’s message is entirely in the refrain of the song. I’m in a hurry to get things done. I rush and rush until life’s no fun. Life is not meant to be drudgery. It is meant to be enjoyed. Yes, we may have some rocks in the road but they are meant to give us pause and opportunity to learn. Everyday we are surrounded by beauty and wonder. It is a shame to waste it by not noticing and enjoying it. We never know what tomorrow will bring, All we know for sure is that we will live and we will die, it is really all we gotta do.

I’m in a hurry and don’t know why….this is a big key to today’s message. We have to ask ourselves why. Why am I rushing through life? What is driving me? What is important? Is it really what is important? If I didn’t have tomorrow, would my choice be the same? No one can answer these questions for us. It is up to us to pause today and answer them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Consider how we are traveling through life.

What made me smile yesterday…

-My favorite kindergarten class.

-A beautiful day.

-A video call from Alex…and Moose.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
