For your consideration…

Before I offend anyone, let me say that today’s message is a tough to write.

I would venture to guess that most people who read this blog on a regular basis are loving caregivers and lightworkers. That is a good thing…a great thing. Yet today’s message is a caution to caregivers.

It is in the caregiver’s and lightworker’s nature to solve problems. Their soul wants to help, feel and fix people and their problems. Again, this is a good thing. Yet, today we are cautioned. In everything there is a balance.

Today we are reminded that every person has personal responsibility to themselves. Every person has a life purpose and lessons to be learned. And every person has free will. Every person has choices. It is important that caregivers do not interfere with them.

Make no mistake. People do need help. There is a time and place for it. Help is different from “fixing.” Support is different from “fixing.” There will always be people who will just hand over their problems, sometimes intentionally…sometimes not. It is the caregivers job to not accept them, instead help them work through them. Today’s message is about helping without taking control. A good example is the proverb, “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime.”

A good caregiver encourages and teaches personnel responsibility leaving control and choice with the other person.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Bless the caregivers.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A fun field trip with our students to the farmers market.

-An absolutely beautiful day.

-Teacher hearts and flexibility.

-A little practice fun with Bruce and dinner out.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
