For your consideration…

You can imagine how shocked I was to get today’s message. I am familiar with the quote, “Speak softly and carry a big stick.” My mental model is that it is combative and refers to conflict; and I guess it does. Yet today’s message was delivered with humor. My shock only added to my Guidance’s joy and fun.

I have no idea who the artist is who created the above or their intended meaning. But here is what I see. I see the mighty lion gathering strength from things he loves. I see him gathering strength in the peace surrounding him. He is confident. We can see that on his face and the vibrance of the peaceful colors that surround him.

Our message today reminds us…with humor, I might add…that we don’t have to shout, work from anger, be combative etc. No, we don’t have to use these things to accomplish what needs to be done or say what needs to be said. We don’t have to use them because we carry the “big stick.” We carry the power of our Divine Spirit lovingly lit by THE Divine Spirit. It is the true power. We keep it powerful by surrounding ourselves with the things we love and rejuvenating in silence.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?’

-Be confident in the power of your spirit.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Go play outside.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A good workout.

-Some crafting done.

-A good reading.

-A fun evening with friends, Dianne and Gary.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
