For your consideration…

“Wonder is an interesting word. Its definitions are different yet related;

noun,     a feeling of surprise mingled with admiration, caused by something beautiful, unexpected, unfamiliar, or inexplicable.

verb, 1. desire or be curious to know something. 2. feel admiration and amazement; marvel.

It is interesting to think about the word wonder. Consider, what was the first thing that you thought today’s message would be about? What is the first thing you thought about as you read the word wonder?

Whatever your answers are, they are perfect and valued. However, today’s message is specific to the first definition of the verb wonder….a desire to be curious to know something.

We are given a little nudge today to be curious and to wonder. It can be about anything. Why something works the way it does, what tomorrow will bring, how something works etc. It does not have to be an earth shattering wonder or it can be. No judgment. Just pick at least one thing and wonder.

The point is that curiosity and wonder spur growth. We are never too young or too old to grow. Growth is meant to be perpetual. We can get comfy and procrastinate but wonder gently pushes us forward. We move forward and that is where the rest of the wonder definitions come into play. It is where we become amazed and see the unexpected beauty…we can see the miracles that surround us always.

I love this quote. Appropriately it is the Jan. 1 quote in the book 365 Days of Wonder by R. J. Palacio.

“We carry within us the wonders we seek around us..”….Sir Thomas Browne

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Pick at least one thing and wonder.

What made me smile yesterday….

-A chill day.

-Catching us with Jackie and Alex.

-I was amazed…am still amazed…that a package I sent in the middle of the day Tuesday reached its destination on Wednesday.

-Ugh, I still can’t just quit reading a book that is so so or not good at all. I had one of those yesterday but managed to buzz through it and then got into another great one.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
