For your consideration…

It seems like our messages of late deal with self-reflection. Today’s message is all about embracing, loving and living our true identity…our authentic self.

Somewhere along the line, perhaps even as babies, we learn the behaviors that please others. They are different for different people. We learn to identify what people like to see and often choose to be that person for them. For example, often we are different with work friends than life-long friends. We learn to hide behaviors and words we think will be unwelcome. We fear judgment and the consequences from it.

Our message today tells us not to sell ourselves short. Stop using the filters that mask our true identity….our authentic self. We are perfect for every moment we share with someone else. We do not need to shutter our true self. In fact, we are asked to consider this. Maybe our relationships will deepen and become stronger when we reveal the pieces of our soul we are hiding. Or maybe not. Maybe we lose a relationship all together. If that is the case, then we are lucky that we have shed a relationship that was unhealthy and counter-productive to our life purpose.

There is a line in the song “Lose My Soul” by TobyMac. It is perfect for today. “I don’t want to gain the whole world and lose my soul.”

We severely limit ourselves when hide bits and pieces of ourselves. We fracture our soul when we choose to deny who we are. We do this our of fear of rejection. Today we asked to remember this, we are a perfect creation. Unless you believe God does not know what he is doing, then you can trust in him and live your authentic self with wild abandon.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…”I am loved.”

-Affirm…“I am God’s perfect creation.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Talking to Jackie.

-A good book.

-Happy hour with Kathleen and catching up on our summer.

-The moon lighting the bedroom.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev.Chris
