For your consideration…

This message has been floating around out there for a couple of days. We all recognize the bible saying, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Our message today is this, “Do unto yourself as you would do unto others.”

Yes, we need to be kind. But today’s message is about being kind to ourselves. Many of us are very harsh and critical of ourselves. Many of us are constantly judging ourselves in everything we do. We treat others far better than we treat ourselves. We are impatient with ourselves. We can’t seem to give ourselves a break.

It is not selfish to treat ourselves as well as we would treat others. Consider it training for how we treat others.

We are reminded once again that we are a unique. We are the only one who can do us. It is up to us to develop and reveal our best selves. Like anyone else, we shine best when we are being treated with love, respect and kindness.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Love yourself. Be your biggest cheerleader.

-Mediate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Mindfulness class.

-Finding an old friend and visiting her.

-Dinner out with Jody.

-A fun fun night with old friends, Jody, Julie, Vickie and Betsy. A rare night, indeed. I love how eclectic we are and how we can laugh at ourselves.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
