For your consideration……

Boy, I can be thick sometimes. It wasn’t until I talked to my friend, Jackie, I realized there was a message coming through. Mind you, that during a coaching call Monday night, 5 women all wanted to tap around motherhood. Once one woman asked it just snowballed. Then every friend I talked to on Tuesday brought the conversation around to our children. Me included.

Most, but not all, of the fore mentioned’s children are grown. So why are we still so focused on them? I meditated on it and here is what is happening.

Of course, our children are always are children and we will never stop being concerned for them. But this concern right now it heightened. During this time of reflection, we are reflecting through the lens of our motherhood. We are being called to look at all that surrounds us through the lens of a mother.

Invested mothers always carry the burden of “am I good enough”? The reality is it our imperfection that keeps us relatable and forces us to continue to grow, question and reach out. We aren’t perfect so we continue to check ourselves. We continue to make course corrections without hesitation because we will do anything for our children.

Mothers strive to be fair and reach compromise whenever possible. But they have the strength to put their foot down when they know it is for the best. Mother’s weigh in with love and honesty then get out-of-the-way and allow their children to grow from their own successes and failures. Mother’s love is unconditional and unwavering.

When you look at the world through a mother’s eyes, what do you see? How would politics be different if mothers were in charge? How would your workplace be different if it were run through a mothers eyes? How would Mother Earth benefit if we all looked at her through our own mother’s eyes?

There is a shift coming. It is unstoppable. We all feel it. We are being asked to reflect on what that change will look like when mothers stand up. When mothers around the world stand up and say, enough is enough already. When mothers around the world stand up and take charge as only a mother can, then and only then, will we see real change. Mothers are unstoppable because their love is pure and unconditional in direct reflection of God’s.

So the HOPE is you will not put your “Mother Self” on the shelf when you go to work, events etc. Instead, you will let your “Mother Self” be full and present reflected in everything you do.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate around what it means to be a full and present mother.

-Journal on that or any other reflections that pop up for you.

-Drink lots of water.

-Phone another mother, vent. Remind each other of your strength. Validate each other.

-Take some deep breaths, at least 10, outdoors.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Some great finds at the Re-use Center.

-I may have had to go out of my way but my old farm stand is so worth it. The veggies are just yummy.

-I can just hear Loretta. I can still just hear Loretta and my Mom too. Yikes.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
