For your consideration…

Many of us don’t like change. In reality, we don’t want change when everything is going our way. But we crave it when things are not going our way.

We are often reminded that we are in a perpetual state of change. Change is constant. There are no two moments the same. It is our perception that gives the illusion that things are stagnant or constant. We feed the illusion by creating and maintaining habits. Sure we create habits to help keep us organized. But we also create them to help us feel stable and safe. We create them to help us feel in control.

There is nothing wrong with habits. Our attention is drawn to them today to remind us that they are a tool and in our control. The quickest way to create change is to change a habit. Just do things differently. Even if what we do seemingly is not related to the change we want to see, our perspective is altered. Consider simple things like taking a new route to work, changing alarm settings, a new recipe or dinner time, shopping at a different store, listen to a different view-point without comment etc.

Change the habit, change the perspective, affect change.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths….or 9 or 11 or 15.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Middle schoolers.

-A half day of work let me get lots of things done that normally would have had to wait until after work.

-A beautiful, picture perfect sunny warm day. We have waited so long for these days to return.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
