For your consideration….

“One good turn deserves another.” Petronius.

I think most of us have heard this quote throughout our lives. And most of us probably did not grow up thinking or hearing about karma from Hinduism and Buddhism. Think about karma where what we think, do and say attracts our future. Do you see the correlation? Do you see how our belief systems have never been as far apart as we may have thought.

That is the first part of today’s message. The second part is this. When we hear or say “One good turn deserves another,” we are often referring to reciprocity. We are often referring to returning the favor or deed. Our message today tells us that is not necessarily so. Reciprocity may be back to the person who helped us but it may also be doing a good deed for another, paying it forward.

Reciprocity can mean honoring the person who helped us by helping another and another and another. HOPEfully they will do the same. Can you see how the original helping act multiplies? What greater way to return a good deed could there ever be? I picked the above picture for today’s message because it shows how dependent we are on each other and it shows consideration and appreciation.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Watching Mac play softball all day.

-I like that a beautiful new school no longer in use, is re-purposed.

-Got a package packed up and sent out.

-Breakfast for dinner. It doesn’t take much to impress my Bruce. He thinks a frittata is gourmet.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
