For your consideration…

I must confess,  when I think of the word semantics, I have a somewhat negative attitude about it. But today’s messages anything but negative.

Today’s message tells us that semantics have been very helpful in the opening of our minds and hearts. Semantics have helped us grow into this new age.

I remember when I was a small child I had a friend who used to invite all of our little group of friends over for sleepovers. My mother would never let me go because the girls would always be invited to go to church. I couldn’t understand what was wrong with that. But my mom told me that it was a church where strange things went at. When my girlfriends would come back from spending the night at Bonnie’s, they would be all excited. They said that they saw miraculous healings. They said it was fun and they saw nothing but happiness and they felt happy. Of course, I now know it was  was a church that practiced the laying of hands  I’m so strange to my mom then, is now the very common practice that we recognize as Reiki.

Not that long ago maybe only five or six years a young friend of mine was a gym teacher in the south. She has started to implement the use of yoga. It was a public school. And it did not take long before there were some complaints. Some of the parents associated yoga with religion. She was asked to stop teaching it. The children loved the yoga. And we know that yoga is very good for us. This young teacher changed the name of the class and kept on teaching with no complaints.

Often when we talk about meditation we will hear people say I can’t meditate. But we find that they often do meditation sometimes they call it prayer sometimes they go into a space when they’re jogging or just sitting very still. Sometimes that Stillness that going within is called prayer. Sometimes it’s called meditation. Sometimes it’s called mindfulness. There’s many different names for becoming still and going within.

Our message today tells us that semantics can help eliminate fear, stereo typing, preconceived notions and cause people to do a relook. And allows them to take a second look without fear and a more open heart and mind.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

For your consideration…

-Affirm…”I am loved. “

-Meditate/pray…”Ask what is my next step for my highest good in the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and taking at least 10 deep breaths or better yet get in a good walk.

-Where there’s a will there’s a way. Considered changing your words, using some semantics.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Another beautiful sunny day.

-My computer works perfectly. Which it is not doing today. Once again I’m posting from my phone.

-A good walk in a good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
