For your consideration….

I have spent so much time this morning trying to find a picture that would portray today’s message but could not really find a perfect one so this one will have to do. Today’s message is an analogy using cooking as a comparison to life.

We were born with a life tool box, tools or ingredients we need to sustain our life…HOPEfully leading us to fulfilling our life purpose. In every moment throughout our life we pick up more ingredients, life experiences that we can use.

Over time we develop recipes on how to handle situations big and small, family, job, recreation, tasks, vacation.

We are given a question today. What kind of cook do we want to be; short order, fancy, laid back, fast food, chef or iron chef? How good do we want to be? Do we want to use all of our skills? Do we want to keep learning new recipes and ingredients to constantly get better? Do we want to cook for others…share? Do we want to cook with love and joy and share that with others? What is our recipe for gratitude, determination, strength, honesty, contentment, charity, forgiveness, fun etc.?

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Affirm…I am loved.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday….

-People keep telling us that bad weather is moving in but every day turns out to be beautiful.

-A big long walk.

-Figuring out we can use Netflix which is kind of fun at night.

-There are no new channels here….bliss.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
