For your consideration…..

Today’s song did not wake me up but came in meditation as part of our message. This song I am pretty sure most of you have heard. It is the “The Inner Explorer Song.” This song is sung at the end of short mindfulness lessons. It is a great way to close because it reinforces a positive, HOPEful life attitude.

The Inner Explorer Song

“When I look up, I see the whole world shining
When I look down, I see a world that’s mine
When I look out, I see everything
When I look in, I can hear my heart sing”

Don’t you love it? In it we look out to see and claim a world that is shining and we look in to see a heart that matches it. It reminds us that we are connected. We are part of a world that we own.

I love this mindfulness program for children. I love it because it naturally makes them comfortable with closing their eyes and being still. They learn to look watch and use their breath. This gives children such a great life advantage. It is not the norm.

I don’t know why or how it happens but somewhere between birth and middle school, children learn to be uncomfortable with silence and looking within. If you ask them to close their eyes and be still, it is difficult for them. They are very uncomfortable, feel vulnerable. Indeed, indeed most of us spend a lifetime relearning how to do be still, control our breath and look within.

As adults many of us feel vulnerable in stillness. We are afraid to look within. But our message today tells us that is exactly where we need to look to find our strength.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be still. Discover your essence and power.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Alex presenting in NYC.

-A beautiful day. We are blessed.

-Nuisance tasks done.

-An early bedtime.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
