For your consideration….

“Put out the fire before it starts by taking every thought captive and not speaking any careless words out of your mouth.” This quote is based on 2 Corinthians.

Quite simply we are asked to think before we speak. Our words matter. They have impact. Most of us do not give much thought to most of the words we utter. We are reminded that we do not have to say every thought that runs through our head. Our message today reminds us that focusing on the thought gives us the opportunity to change it before it can do harm. Rather than say something hurtful, we can choose to (we always have a choice) acknowledge it, bless it and let it go. Or we can modify  our words to be helpful rather than harmful.

Think about all of the chaos that could be avoided if we all took responsibility for our words and vowed to do no harm.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Think about your words and let them do no harm.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Our new Young Fives. What a great little class.

-Talking about words matter. Little Clara took mom’s words quite literally. She thought that mom meant she would pick her up after lunch. Mom meant in the afternoon. Clara took it to mean immediately following lunch.

-The new house cleaners did an amazing job.

-An early bed. Needless to say, I went to sleep immediately and slept through the entire night.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
