For your consideration….

Our message today is so light-hearted and easy. It is “Clean your plate.” So seriously, why have I sat here for 40 minutes looking for an image for this message. I apologize. I finally just resorted to making my own.

We spend a lot of time worrying about what needs to get done and time. We often become overwhelmed.

Today I was reminded of a boy I had this year. We had an assignment that he had 2 weeks to finish. But when the due date arrived, he was not done. As the other students worked, I called him up and told him to get a scrap piece of paper out of the recycle. I could tell he thought this was strange but my intention was to teach him that he was making the assignment much bigger and harder than it was. So we started with a recycled piece of scrap paper and just threw down random thoughts and words on it in no particular place and in no particular order. When he felt he was done, we turned the paper over and started incorporating those words into the assignment. He was magnificent. I went to help other students while he finished. I was surprised when I came back to the desk and he was done.

I loved what he had written but asked him, “Are you happy with this?”

“YES!” he replied.

“How long did this take you?” I asked.

“Ten minutes.”

“Remember this next time you have an assignment and you worry away your time.”

We have the same message today. Spend the worry time getting something off of our plate. When we clean our plate, we feel better. We feel accomplishment. We feel lighter. Perhaps we can not get all done. But we can get it started. We can chunk it out and do it a bit by bit, piece by piece. The effects will be the same.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Clean your plate.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Talking to Alex. The boat is fixed and she is finally getting to get out and get her flying done.

-A great picture of her on Facebook.

-Dinner at my favorite Wyandotte restaurant with Pam.

-Readings with Mark…….awesome.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
