For your consideration….

We all have memories that are painful, sad, maddening etc. We carry them around as part of our life history….part of our DNA. What do we think? If we let them go, we will lose who we are? Some of us want to let them go but do not know how because as soon as we revisit them the same old feeling bubble up and boil over all over again. Keeping them buried seems safer.

Realistically we know that carrying old burdens is unhealthy for us. We know that we have to come to terms and release our anger and sadness but all too often it just gets buried again as part of our past.

Our message today asks us to pull out those painful memories and look at them in the light of the new day. Pull them out thinking…visualizing….them coming out of the darkness and into the bright light of a new day. Visualize them getting a fresh perspective. While we can’t change that they happened, even old memories can evolve. We can add to them and change them. We can make them less painful….even funny.

Laughter is a great way to turn any situation….even painful memories….around. It takes some of the “sting” out of them. It dilutes them. Laughter releases tension and replaces it with joy and HOPE. Laughter physically changes our body chemistry helping us to heal at once as it releases our spirit to heal and soar. Where laughter is applied, perspective changes. It does not alter the truth but it changes how we choose to see it. It changes how we choose to carry it forward.

We have a choice. We always have a choice.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Choose to change perspective. Laugh and heal.

What made me smile yesterday….

-A great ride to Tennessee with Pam.

-Seeing my sister and brother and laughing out loud.

-Being with out sister’s family was so much fun.

-I love teenagers.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
