Little Lies

sung by Fleetwood Mac

Writer(s): Eddy Quintela Mendonca, Christine Mcvie

Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
If I could turn the page
In time then I’d rearrange just a day or two
Close my, close my, close my eyes
But I couldn’t find a way
So I’ll settle for one day to believe in you
Tell me, tell me, tell me lies
Tell me lies
Tell me sweet little lies
(Tell me lies, tell me, tell me lies)
Oh, no, no you can’t disguise
(You can’t disguise, no you can’t disguise)

For your consideration….

We all do it. We tell little lies. We consider them insignificant. We tell them because they are convenient. We tell them because we don’t want to hurt someone’s feelings. We tell them to protect the image people have of us. We tell them because we know it is what people want to hear or expect.

We call them little white lies. The white is a disguise in itself. It denotes that it is not dark and therefore not harmful. We like to think that they are not harmful to others or ourselves.

Perhaps they are not harmful to others but they are always harmful to ourselves. Any lie, no matter the size, diminishes the truth and light of our authentic self. Little lies signal our authentic self that we do not think it is good enough to stand on itself in its own light. Nothing good be further from the truth.

Our authentic self is our essence. It is who we were born to be. It is perfect and exactly what the world needs to see.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Stand in your own truth. It is all good. No little lies are necessary.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A down day with a good book.

-Sunshine. Last week the robins came back. Yesterday the blue jays. Yeah. Can Spring be far away?

-Catching up with Jackie.

-A conference call with an editor, Lisa Tener.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
