For your consideration…..

In the auto industry we have a goal to “surprise and delight.” You want to give the customer something that they don’t expect and have them be thrilled with it. My favorite surprise on my new vehicle are the automatic bright lights. They come on when needed and shut themselves off when oncoming traffic is approaching. I didn’t expect this feature, didn’t know it existed. But it is clearly my most favorite of the many new ones on this vehicle.

Our message today tells us that every day…every day…we are given surprises meant to delight us. Perhaps it is an unexpected smile. Perhaps it is when you see the lights come on in someone’s face. Perhaps it is a shared moment no one else gets. Perhaps it is the look in your child’s eyes when they first spot you. Perhaps it is an unexpected free moment. Perhaps it is a new recipe that will become a keeper. Perhaps it is an unexpected beautiful weather day. Perhaps it is an amazing sunset. Perhaps it is a fire in the fire-place, a warm blanket and book. Perhaps it is a phone call from a friend.

You get the picture. Things pop up in our day to brighten it. They are meant to surprise and delight us. They are gifts.

We are asked to pay attention and be on the look our for them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water. A warm cup of water in the morning jump starts your system.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be grateful for your surprise and delights.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A new school.

-A beautiful fall day with 82 degree weather.

-Dinner with Mary.

-Technologically challenged as I am, I was able to help Mary order a new bedroom set on-line and download an app on her new phone.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
