For your consideration….

I am so excited about today’s message. It came in literally on the wings of a bee that buzzed around me during my meditation. It only left when I had that “ah ha” moment that they were the subject of our message. It seems fitting that they are part of the Labor Day weekend, them being so hard-working.

I love bees. Odd, I know. My husband dives for cover when they come by him as do many people. But I love when they land on me and tickle as they find some unseen thing on my fingers or toes. My mother always comes to me as a butterfly and my Dad as a ladybug. When I pass, I will come to my children as a bee. They better get over their fear.

For a long time scientists could not figure out how bees could fly. Their large bodies should have made it impossible. Ultimately it was discovered that they moved their wings so fast that they are able to overcome their large body obstacle. Now there’s a lesson if we ever saw won…hard work overcoming obstacles.

Bees are ever busy. Without them there would be no flowers. They are master fertilizers pollinators and fertilizers and represent such….procreation of children, ideas, creativity, work etc.

Bees are unique insects because beside pollinating, they produce food and help keep insects under control. Bees are the ultimate multi-taskers.

When bees show up we are called to examine our own productivity. Are we making our life all it can be? Are we savoring it? Are we working too hard? Are we working not hard enough?

Besides work, do we like the other activities in our lives? We join organizations, clubs, teams etc. for a variety of reasons. Are they still valid? Do we still enjoy them? If not, perhaps it is time to bless them and move on to new ones.

Bees are also builders. The hexagon shape they use in their hives has been a long time symbol of the heart and sweetness of life, the sun and its energies. Are we building and savoring the sweetness of life? Are we procreating it and gifting it?

“The bee is the reminder to extract the honey of life and to make our lives

fertile while the sun shines. The bee reminds us that no matter how great

the dream, there is the promise of fulfillment if we pursue it.

The elixir of life is as sweet as honey, and the bee is a symbol that

promises us that the opportunity to drink of it is ours if we but pursue our dreams.”

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all.”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Get some exercise.

-“Labor” is a key word for the weekend. We are asked to examine our efforts and determine what is working for us and what isn’t.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Another absolutely perfect day.

-I rarely can sleep past 6 hours. I was sooo excited that I slept over eight and a half. Thank you Stillwater.

-I stuck it out and the book I was trying to read turned out to be pretty good and I finished it.

-I went for a walk and cruised the art fair. I stopped and filled out a “quilt piece” for the cancer quilt. While doing so, I learned that they were short handed due to a couple illnesses. I offered to help and ended up sewing for 3 hours. It was fun.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev.Chris
