For your consideration…..

When I got today’s message, I immediately went to “Wherever am I going to find a picture for this message?” I was shocked when so much came up in my google search. The one above is just perfect.

Our message today reminds us that we want to thrive not just survive and we can make that happen.

We first want to consider the necessities to thrive. Ultimately, if we are honest, what we need is to love and be loved. Sure there are a lot of other things that might make our life easier but they will not make us thrive. They will not guarantee our happiness.

Money and things can make our life easier but not guarantee the happiness we need to thrive. Conversely, we can have sever lack and with love and support find happiness, purpose and be able to thrive. We need only to look at the Olympics to see this very example.

We are asked to consider what are the necessities of love. What ingredients must love have…..respect, faith, trust, honesty, concern, kindness, joy, generosity, caring etc.? We know love when we see and feel it but it behoves us to think about those things that make it love. What ways we can incorporate and demonstrate them in our lives?

There is a second part to today’s message. It deals with time. Surviving and thriving can be about this moment or anytime in the future…long and short terms. Every single encounter we have is an opportunity to be that person’s person that helps them thrive….or not. We have a choice. We always have a choice.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE and so it is…..

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be another’s person that helps them thrive.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A family breakfast with James’ parents.

-Reading on the balcony.

-A great art fair.

-A sunset walk.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
