For your consideration…..

While yesterday’s message was about boundaries, it told us where to find the truth and how to recognize it. Today’s message is a little different. It’s main focus is on that truth.

Why do we not automatically seek the truth, whole truth and nothing but the truth? Most of us most of the time would say we do. But it that true. Do we dig deep, listen and wait to hear truth?

Why don’t we always search for the truth? Sometimes we are afraid of the answer. Sometimes we are just lazy. Sometimes it is inconvenient. Sometimes it doesn’t fit our “narrative.” Remember the line in the movie “A Few Good Men?” Jack Nicholson shouts, “You can’t handle the truth.” For ever so brief a moment Tom Cruise pauses, considering the truth of that statement before resuming to get to the truth.

Truth is not always easy. Sometimes it points us down a hard path making us make tough decisions or take difficult actions. Sometimes we may argue that not being truthful is the “best” decision.

But if we go to our authentic self, we know like we know like we know, “That the voice of truth tells us a different story.” The world may seem to be in mayhem but there are more enlightened people than ever before. Enlightened people are the lightworkers that make the changes the world needs. Lightworkers reflect truth, the truth that can only be found in the authentic self.

Again, we may not like the truth we see. It may show us people who are phony, disingenuous or outright liars. That may not be what we want to see or believe. We may find that we no longer agree with the actions of an organization, friends, family, church etc. and that may make us sad. We may be asked to do things we are no longer comfortable doing and have to decline the invitation.

Truth can be hard. Walking the talk can be hard. But truth is the story that needs to be told and lived. Nothing less will do. We can’t change the past but we can live in the now and make sure that this moment is lived with truth as we know it. We can have faith that if we walk and talk truth, we are doing our part and the Universe will take care of the rest.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Ask, what is the truth?

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A perfect day.

-I got my hair done, as it turned out just is time. My hairdresser is quitting to take a job at GM…..happy for her…sad for me….glad I made my appointment when I did.

-A new recipe for chili for coney island hot dogs. Bruce said, “This is my kind of dinner. I could eat this every night.” I guess that makes this recipe a keeper.

-The countdown to seeing our Alex is on.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
