For your consideration….

Today’s message goes beyond counting our blessings. We are asked to “quantify” them. Yes, count them. Count every one you can remember even duplicates. At first I was thinking, easy enough, I’ll get a little “clicker counter” like they use at ticket gates. I quickly heard NO because we are not only counting our blessings, we are focusing on them.

For instance my gratitude may be, “I met wonderful people today.” or “I had a great time with friends.” We are asked to “drill down” and be more specific. For example, I met Sue today who is an amazing problem solver. Or, I love spending time with Jackie. It is peaceful and we always find something to laugh about.

Why quantify, you may be asking. I did. Because we are creators. Our thoughts, our blessings, are like magnets. Our gratitude is a beacon sent out attracting more to it. It is a production order for more of the same.

And there’s more. We are often told to be fully present in a moment. We might think this is a conflict, that counting our blessings is by definition focusing on a past moment. But that is not the case. Focusing on blessings gives the Universe a clear picture of what we want more of. Focusing on our blessings is like placing an order. Indeed it IS being fully present in the moment.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Spend time focused on gratitude.

What made me smile yesterday….

-I’m glad I trusted my instincts and watered my plants.

-Bruce, Dude and I took a trip to Stillwater.

-OK, so now I am getting amazing sleep. And now I have the opposite problem. I am not tired enough to go to bed. Yikes. I think I am going to have to find ways to expend all of this energy. This is a very good thing.

-A beautiful evening. I love these long days and being able to sit on the porch reading until 9 at night.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
