For your consideration…..

We’ve received many messages about living in the moment. It is easier said than done. Today’s message is intended to point out how we dilute the moment.

The worse culprit is our “to-do lists.” We keep ourselves on track with a written or mental list of all we have to do. While we are working on one task we “check out” and start thinking about the next and the next and the next.

How about some examples?

-We are sitting in church and thinking about all the things we need to get done today. We start planning our route to maximize our ability to complete them. The only time we should be planning is when the moment is about planning.

-Or it is Sunday and we are dreading starting the work week on Monday totally losing the possibility of what Sunday can be.

-Or visa versa, we are at work and thinking about all we have to do when we get off work or even the next weekend. We lose  talent and efficiency.

-Maybe we are our child’s event and we planning dinner. How often have we missed a starring moment of our child because we are not focused on them and the game?

-How about when we are talking to someone and thinking about someone or something else? We have automatically sabotaged what that moment could have been.

You get the picture. We are diluting the moment when we are not totally in it.

We want to be more. We want to grow. We want to be the best we can be. Today’s message tells us that one of the ways we accomplish this is by letting the moment be all it can be by not diluting it.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be present.

What made me smile yesterday……

-The unthinkable. I slept until 11:10.

-Stillwater is good for me.

-Great pictures of the kids in Hawaii.

-Relaxing.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
