For your consideration….

It’s life. We are all born with a purpose and struggle to figure out what it is and how to complete it. Deep down we know there are no mistakes. We were designed perfectly and given absolutely everything we need. Yet how we successfully make it all work often challenges us.

Under every trial and tribulation we have in our life there is a common theme….a common dragon biting at our heals as we climb our ladder to fulfilling our life purpose. Let me give you a couple of examples.

My dragon is balance. Underlying everything I do I struggle with doing too much…going overboard….until I am overwhelmed. I tend to take everything onto my own shoulders and then am furious when no one else is doing anything or working as hard as I am. Of course they aren’t, I’ve picked up the whole thing and walked away with it.

My youngest daughter’s dragon, is her attitude. She is full speed ahead in anything she does. There is no in between or neutral. So if she is positive, she absolutely knows all is well and she’s successfully navigating up her ladder. She can figure anything out. However if she is negative she can not hear, see or accept that anything will ever be ok. Everything is just wrong and awful. When she is like that, we call her Doom and Gloom II. Her dad is the original Doom and Gloom.

Every single one of us has a demon, an internal trait, in our life that we must constantly struggle with. Our message today simply points that out and asks us to pause and think about what ours is. Then we are asked to come up with a mantra to use when we notice that our dragon is biting at our heals. My mantra is, “Sometimes my role is a supporting one.”

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Know your dragon.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Front door painted.

-Front porch painted.

-Milk can painted.

-Between my brother and I, we have the front porch looking great.

-Like magic…flowers from Alex.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
