Sunrise in Lexington, Michigan

For your consideration…

Have you ever had your words repeated back to you for you to hear? That is how today’s message come in.

As you know or can imagine, getting 25-30 students to be still and listen can be a challenge. Like adults they want to respond right away. They often listen to respond not to hear and learn. Instruction time can not be productive when various dialogs are going on so I often say, “Whoops, my voice is on so yours should be off.”

Yeah, those are the words we got for today’s message. “Whoops, my voice is on so yours should be off.”

We simply can not hear what others have to say if we are listening to speak, talk over them or interrupt them. And on a much higher level, we can’t hear our God or our Guidance when we do not get silent.

Why do we fight silence so much? What are we afraid of? What don’t we want to hear?

When we get still and we really listen, our authentic self steps forward and dialogs one-on-one with our Guidance. The “chatter” that is nothing more than “white noise” fades away. We hear our truth, our faith, ourĀ HOPE. There is nothing to fear. The direction we are given comes from love and only love. Even if it is not what we wanted to hear we will feel loved and supported. We will feel the “rightness.”

Whether it is for a moment, hours and anything in between, the silence is our friend. It is no coincidence that “silent” and “listen” have the same letters. Be still and listen.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Let go of fear.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Storms held off until late night. We had a beautiful day.

-My kindergartners chasing a butterfly. How could you not smile? I wish I had gotten a picture.

-An unexpected afternoon break sitting outside.

-Pictures from our Peanut on her 8th grade Washington D.C. trip.

-Alex read the latest draft of my book for my. She says it is improved. Yeah, I’m headed in the right direction….back to work on it.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
