For your consideration…..

Quite often we are reminded to “maximize” the moment, make it all that it can be. To do that we have to be mindful and choose to do it. That isn’t always easy.

Today’s message gives a helpful hint. It tells us that we all have triggers. They are different from each other or at least vary in degrees. You know them already. You know what sets you off. You know what always pushes your buttons? Are they words? Are they actions? Or are they lack of either of either? Are they triggers that have become habits? What triggers motivate us?

How about a couple of examples? What do you automatically do when the phone rings? Do you go for a cup of coffee like I do or are you like my friend, Jackie, and start thinking about the tasks you are going to do while on the phone? Is it an opportunity for relaxation or to get things done?

Recognizing our triggers gives us a heads up to the opportunity the moment presents. Let me give you a personal example. I used to become absolutely enraged when people wasted my time; dentists, doctors, the check out line in stores, friends or family who are perpetually late etc. Truly I would let my day be ruined. Knowing this I searched for a solution. The Kindle was my solution. With its slim profile, it fit in just about every purse. I love reading. Waiting became an opportunity to do something I love. Of course the minute I let go of anticipation of waiting and being angry, it seems like I rarely have to do it anymore.

Our message today reminds us to notice our triggers and let them work to our advantage.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Count your triggers as blessings and use them work for you.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
