“Learn To Be Still”
written by Don Henley/Stanley Lynch

It’s just another day in paradise
As you stumble to your bed
You’d give anything to silence
Those voices ringing in your head
You thought you could find happiness
Just over that green hill
You thought you would be satisfied
But you never will-
Learn to be still

We are like sheep without a shepherd
We don’t know how to be alone
So we wander ’round this desert
And wind up following the wrong gods home
But the flock cries out for another
And they keep answering that bell
And one more starry-eyed messiah
Meets a violent farewell-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

Now the flowers in your garden
They don’t smell so sweet
Maybe you’ve forgotten
The heaven lying at your feet

There are so many contradictions
In all these messages we send
(We keep asking)
How do I get out of here
Where do I fit in?
Though the world is torn and shaken
Even if your heart is breakin’
It’s waiting for you to awaken
And someday you will-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

You just keep on runnin’
Keep on runnin’

For your consideration…..
Yeah, another song. “Learn To Be Still.”
The emphasis is on “learn.” We forget that being still is not automatic for us. We forget that it has to be learned. It takes practice. It requires focus. It must be a conscious decision.
We are promised today, that the time and practice are all worth it. The benefits far outweigh the work we put into it. We don’t just benefit in the moment. No, the time we spend being still spills into all of our life moments.
Just breathe and spend a few moments with you authentic self and your Guidance.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Commit to a period of “stillness” each and every day.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Another day perfect for being outside.
-Lots of fun with Alex.
-Getting to the ATT store just in time to get a solution for Alex’s phone that suddenly quit working.
-New experiences.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
