“Wild Horses”

written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards

Childhood living is easy to do
The things that you wanted, I bought them for you
Graceless lady, you know who I am
You know I can’t let you slide through my hands
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away
I watched you suffer a dull, aching pain
And now you decided just to show me the same
No sweeping exit or offstage lines
Can make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Faith has been broken and tears must be cried
Let’s do some living after we die
Wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses, we’ll ride them someday
Wild, wild horses, we’ll ride them someday

For your consideration….

You know I love when we get songs for our message. Even though today’s song is pretty sad, it is used to example HOPE.

We know that people come and go in our life. Sometimes it is a “so what.” It is just part of life. It is a piece we needed to work our path.

However, sometimes people “go” and it is painful. They are people who are deeply connected to our soul and yet we must let them go. Or, maybe we don’t want them to go, but they go because they feel they must. These might be good friends, children, siblings, parents etc. Maybe we have to let them go because we have become an enabler and impede their growth or healing. Perhaps, they are no longer “good” for us and they impede our growth or our safety or family’s safety. Perhaps, it is our children who have grown up and must leave and blossom on their own path. Perhaps it is the death of our loved one by natural, accidental or suicide.

No matter the reason, whether we understand or not, the pain is real.

Now our message…..listen….when our souls are deeply connected nothing separates them forever.

Wild, wild horses couldn’t drag me away
Wild, wild horses, we’ll ride them someday
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Know, like you know, like you know that your loved ones are connected to you forever….this life and the next. It is all good.
What made me smile yesterday….
-A warm day in Las Vegas with some good shopping time.
-Being with my daughter, Alex. We had a great dinner and saw a terrific show.
-I broke my rule and passed the $20 loss per day. But the Angels, butterflies and lady bug machine called my name.
-I let it go and guess what? I won half of it back. I think I am in good shape for today, my last day here.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
