For your consideration…..

Today’s message is something to think about and has a fun suggestion to. It’s light-hearted.

Of course, we are all struggling, working to be our true authentic self. How we do that varies with different people in our lives. Today’s message is specifically about the roles we play with those that are closest to us.

We tend to slip into habits and roles with those people that surround us. Why? It is comfortable, easy and familiar. It is good. It is all good but we can get so comfortable that we stunt our growth. We forget to expand ourselves and stretch to be more. Our loved ones don’t require it. They love us as we are.

Still, don’t we want to continue to grow? It doesn’t have to be a big deal. Little acts, little things are just as perfect. A little step out of our role changes things up a bit.

We are asked to consider doing this. Do something to/for your loved one that is normally their role to do for you. If you are a child do something for your parent that they would normally do for  you. If you are a sibling do something for your sister or brother that they normally do for you. If you are a spouse, do something for your partner that they normally do for you.

Here’s the thing. Not only are you doing something for them, you are also showing them that you notice. You appreciate that little thing they just automatically do for you. You are letting them know that it feels good and you want them to feel good, loved and appreciated too.

Stepping out of our role. even for the smallest things, can make a big impact. Changing things up a bit can be just the boost we need to venture out and expand our body, mind and spirit.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Do something that is not your “job” to do.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Oh, I remember the anxiety of having a big test come up. Prepping high schools for their mid-term today was fun.

-A good book.

-Staying in for the night. It is sooooo chilly.

-I love the little Dyson heater/fan we got. I am not quite sure how it works but it does the job.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
