“Something More”
by Sugarland

Monday, hard to wake up
Fill my coffee cup, I’m out the door
Yeah, the freeway’s standing still today
It’s gonna make me late, and thats for sure
I’m running out of gas and out of time
Never gonna make it there by nineThere’s gotta be something more
Gotta be more than this
I need a little less hard time
I need a little more bliss
I’m gonna take my chances
Taking a chance I might
Find what I’m looking for
There’s gotta be something moreFive years and there’s no doubt
That I’m burnt out, I’ve had enough
So now boss man, here’s my two weeks
I’ll make it short and sweet, so listen up
I could work my life away, but why?
I got things to do before I die

Some believe in destiny, and some believe in fate
I believe that happiness is something we create
You best believe that I’m not gonna wait
‘Cause there’s gotta be something more

I get home 7:30 the house is dirty, but it can wait
Yeah, ’cause right now I need some downtime
To drink some red wine and celebrate
Armageddon could be knocking at my door
But I ain’t gonna answer that’s for sure.
There’s gotta be something!

For your consideration….
Hey, we all feel like this sometime. We feel we are caught in a rut. Maybe we don’t like the way our job is going. We wonder about our choices. Or, we wonder if we have choices. We do. We always have a choice.
Sometimes we get lost and overwhelmed in what we don’t have, even if we don’t know what that is. Our message today is this. Pull all of that energy back in. Focus on what we do have and start from there. What are the tools I do have? What knowledge have I acquired? What is my skill set that I have to work with? What is my belief system? What friends and support system do I have? What is my attitude? Is it helping me or hurting me? Is it focused on what you can do or what you can’t?
When we focus on what we do have and come from a position of gratitude, we open ourselves and invite the Universe to bring more of the same.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink more water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Notice all that you are blessed with.
What made me smile yesterday…..
-Beautiful pictures of my new nieces, Taylor and Camdyn.
-Great Middle Schoolers….for the most part.
-The rain stopped. Do we dare HOPE for some sunshine.
-The beautiful fall moon.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
