“Learn To Be Still”
written by Don Henley

It’s just another day in paradise
As you stumble to your bed
You’d give anything to silence
Those voices ringing in your head
You thought you could find happiness
Just over that green hill
You thought you would be satisfied
But you never will-
Learn to be still

We are like sheep without a shepherd
We don’t know how to be alone
So we wander ’round this desert
And wind up following the wrong gods home
But the flock cries out for another
And they keep answering that bell
And one more starry-eyed messiah
Meets a violent farewell-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

Now the flowers in your garden
They don’t smell so sweet
Maybe you’ve forgotten
The heaven lying at your feet

There are so many contridictions
In all these messages we send
(We keep asking)
How do I get out of here
Where do I fit in?
Though the world is torn and shaken
Even if your heart is breakin’
It’s waiting for you to awaken
And someday you will-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

You just keep on runnin’
Keep on runnin’ on Henley

For your consideration…..

Think about your best friend. Think about who is the first person you want to call and share things with no matter whether they are joyous or sad. Now think about when they are not there to take your call. It is an “Oh, darn” moment.

Today’s message reminds us that we have the same type of relationship with our Guidance. And they are always available for sharing and consulting on all things joyous, sad or even mundane. They are always with us listening and giving us feedback but too often we are not listening.

We know how that feels to not have a friend or loved one listen to us. Today’s message asks us to practice listening. Learn to be still. At first it may feel like we have to make a  process out of it. But eventually when we learn what the silence sounds like, we will be able to go there instantly and hear our Guidance.

We were born into a partnership…us and our Guides. It has always been so. Listen to your partners.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE  by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be still and listen.

What made me smile yesterday….

-A day with Alex.

-A new ravioli recipe.

-A call from Shannon.

-Chilling out in the evening. We have been busy.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
