“Fight Song”

by Rachel Platten

Like a small boat
On the ocean
Sending big waves
Into motion
Like how a single word
Can make a heart open
I might only have one match
But I can make an explosionAnd all those things I didn’t say
Wrecking balls inside my brain
I will scream them loud tonight
Can you hear my voice this time?

This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I’m alright song
My power’s turned on
Starting right now I’ll be strong
I’ll play my fight song
And I don’t really care if nobody else believes
‘Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me

Losing friends and I’m chasing sleep
Everybody’s worried about me
In too deep
Say I’m in too deep (in too deep)
And it’s been two years
I miss my home
But there’s a fire burning in my bones
Still believe
Yeah, I still believe

And all those things I didn’t say
Wrecking balls inside my brain
I will scream them loud tonight
Can you hear my voice this time?

This is my fight song
Take back my life song
Prove I’m alright song
My power’s turned on
Starting right now I’ll be strong
I’ll play my fight song
And I don’t really care if nobody else believes
‘Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me

A lot of fight left in me

Like a small boat
On the ocean
Sending big waves
Into motion
Like how a single word
Can make a heart open
I might only have one match
But I can make an explosion

This is my fight song (Hey!)
Take back my life song (Hey!)
Prove I’m alright song (Hey!)
My power’s turned on
Starting right now I’ll be strong (I’ll be strong)
I’ll play my fight song
And I don’t really care if nobody else believes
‘Cause I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me

No I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me

For your consideration….
Blog writing today is a little tough logistically. This is day 2 of no power at Stillwater. Yikes. Phone is dead and I am no trying to power it in the car. I am in restaurant writing and not sure how long my battery on this machine will hold up. So here we go.
I recognized this song as the first line was given to me today. I have to admit it is the only line of the song I have listened to. I had just trust all would be clear when I could connect to the internet and read the rest. Now it could not be more clear.
Sometimes we all… lose our way, feel defeated, overwhelmed, under qualified, under appreciated and  under valued.  Sometimes we all….let that “can’t” word slip in, let worry take over, freeze up, are scared, don’t know where to turn or our next step.
All of us….yes, all of us….have those moments. The message today reminds us that it is a period of time. It is not who we are. It can not define us unless we let it.
Read the words of this song. I’m going to print them off and post them next to my vision board.
Today we are asked to remember our power. Hold on to our power. Never give it away. Never push it aside. Turn on our power. Kick our power up a notch.
Wahoo. I’m ready!
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors. Walk barefoot.
-Take in at least 10 deep breaths.
What made me smile yesterday……
-Relaxing with a good book.
-Visiting with the neighbors. Who needs power?
-LED lights.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
