Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head

BJ Thomas

(Songwriters BACHARACH, BURT / DAVID, HAL)

Raindrops are falling on my head
And just like the guy whose feet
Are too big for his bed
Nothing seems to fit
Those raindrops
Are falling on my head
They keep falling.

So I just did me some
Talking to the sun
And I said I didn’t like the way
He got things done
Sleeping on the job
Those raindrops
Are falling on my head
They keep fallin’

But there’s one thing I know
The blues they send to meet me
Won’t defeat me, it won’t be long
Till happiness
Steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn’t mean my eyes
Will soon be turning red
Crying’s not for me ’cause,
I’m never gonna stop the rain
By complaining,
Because I’m free
Nothing’s worrying me

It won’t be long
Till happiness
Steps up to greet me

Raindrops keep falling on my head
But that doesn’t mean my eyes
Will soon be turning red
Crying’s not for me cause,
I’m never gonna stop the rain
By complaining,
Because I’m free, ’cause nothing’s worrying me

For your consideration….

“Worry and fear stunt growth and are unsustainable.” That was the exact message today.

We know this. When we worry and fear, we blind ourselves to possibilities. In essence, we shut down our HOPE and faith. We throw up roadblocks to blessings.

Remember, life is a series of moments. We are asked to suspend judgment allowing that they are all good and necessary….and fleeting.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Stay in a state of HOPE and faith. Let go of worry and fear.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A hot hot hot sunny day.

-Taking my first graders outside “copping a squat” under a tree and reading them. Then after a recess, I brought them back in to complete a lesson on “story mapping” the book we had read. I asked them what a “setting” was. Then I asked them where the setting of the book was. “Under the sea.” several responded and then they spontaneously broke out into  Ariel’s song “Under the Sea.” How can’t you smile?

-Pulling into the garage and seeing my husband and birthday boy in his new birthday shirt and shoes. And here I had felt bad all day about not leaving him a note that he could open his presents if he wanted. Evidently there was no need.

-A call from Dianne.

-I took him out from dinner and posted a pic on Facebook.  As likes and comments came back, I read them to him. He loved it and now thinks he is launched in the internet media.

-Later he says, “Chris, I really had a great birthday.” Awww.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
