For your consideration……

Yesterday, Christians all over the world observed Good Friday. Our focus is on the greatest sacrifice of all…laying down ones life. Jesus laid down his life because he believed. He knew in his soul that it was necessary so that our sins would be forgiven…forever more. His knowing and belief was so strong, it was worth laying down his life in the most horrific of ways.

Today we are asked to pause and reflect on what we know and believe. What do we know and believe in so strongly that we would be willing to die for it? What is embedded in our soul?

Here is the deal. We listen all day and night, are bombarded with, people on TV, on the internet, in the newspapers and magazines, telling us what we should know. We hear a lot from the “moral authority.”

Moral authority is authority premised on principles, or fundamental truths,

which are independent of written, or positive, laws.

As such, moral authority necessitates the existence of and adherence to truth.

Do you get that last part….“necessitates the existence of and adherence to truth.” If that does not exist, they do not have moral authority. If that is not written in their soul, they do not have moral authority. What we have to ask ourselves is this? What would they be willing to do to defend their cause…their words? Would they sacrifice fame, profit or die for it? Or are they just out grabbing headlines? Are they out there preaching because it “provides them a job? Are they asking others to do what they would not do themselves?

We have to be very careful on who we listen to. We can not let our own soul be tarnished or diminished by those who do not really possess the beliefs they preach.

All that is being asked of us today is that we pause and remember what is written on our own soul. That is our mission. That is our life purpose….our path. Stay the course of your soul. It will not let you down.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water and less caffeine.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Know and listen to your soul.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Pesky chores taken care of or at least started to be taken care of.

-I finished a great book.

-SKYPing with Alex.

-New air purifiers. Ahhhhh.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
